Looks for Less: Floral Pencil Skirts

I love the floral pencil skirts that are all over the place this season.  I think they're feminine and whimsical, while still appearing sophisticated.  However, most of them are way {waywayway} out of my price range.  I'm glad DownEast Basics has a skirt that echoes the feel without copying the price tag:

Watercolor Floral-Print Slim Skirt, $99, Lord & Taylor {link}
Elie Tahari floral poplin pencil skirt, on sale $109.99, Bluefly {link}
Watercolor floral pastiche pencil skirt, $110, J. Crew {link}
Breathtaking Beauty Skirt, $29.99, DownEast Basics {link}

What do you think?  Are you into floral pencil skirts this season?  Do you like the one from DownEast? Would you buy it at this price, or will you wait for it to go on sale?  How do you think it compares to the more expensive skirts?

I have been eyeing that pencil skirt at J. Crew for what seems like ages... even on my shopping ban, I've been super tempted to buy a replica! I really like this at Newport News http://www.newport-news.com/shop/product_single.aspx?style_id=36301279&clear=1&index=0&gp_coll_id=0&gp_cat_id=7528&nav_cat_id=8944&category_id=10545, definitely fits in with the look-for-less idea!

I LOVE the Down East skirts. I own at least five. I bought one on sale recently for $5. $5!

I love me a floral pencil skirt! I think DownEast Basics has done a nice job doing a few of those this season (generally all of their skirts are a-line and sit on the hip).

I really like the one you picked!

I love a good pencil skirt, especially a floral one. I have the J Crew sunshine peony skirt and the DownEast spring scene skirt and I love them both. As a mostly stay at home mom I will get more use out of the downeast skirt because it is lighter and easier to wash!

So beautiful! Wish I wasn't pregnant. Pencil skirts are out for me this season. Might pick one up on clearance and hope the trend lasts for next year.

I'm taking a sewing class right now, and the next thing I'm making is a pencil skirt! They're such a great mix of classic and trendy.

katy beat me to what i was going to say. with one yard of fabric and about two hours you could make any one of those skirts for under $10.
